Prague is overcrowded with European tourists, most arriving by bus loads from all corners of Europe, but it is enchanting and a city not to miss on your tour of Central Europe. For the American traveler the heart of Central Europe offers the possibility to experience it by river cruise and cycling.

River cruising offers much better way of sightseeing the picturesque landscapes and romantic towns and villages. View the life go by from the deck of a small river ship. This kind of cruise has nothing to compare it to the impersonal ocean-going liners.

A wonderful way to experience Central Europe is to fly into Prague, spend three days to sightsee this gem of cities, the hundred-spire city, the mother of cities, as Prague is called, then take a train to Nuremberg in Germany to board your small river ship.

It takes six days at leisurely pace to reach Budapest. En route you’ll pass the wonderful German and Austrian towns, starting with the medieval Regensburg, Passau, then tour Melk’s magnificent Benedictine Abbey, wonder the streets of romantic Vienna and finally arrive in Budapest.

In Passau you can take a side trip to Linz, a historic town and picture postcard perfect one. After Melk Vienna is a major stop and a grand old European metropolis it is to explore for its impressive historical treasures.

Of course if you love to cycle what’s better than power your own two wheels and cycle this part of Europe’s best bicycle trails. You can cycle the medieval Greenway between Prague and Vienna and it’s just as enjoyable to do it in either direction.

A great trail to cycle that crosses the Danube and feeds into the Vienna-Prague Greenway is the Salzburg-Prague trail. And once in Budapest, you can embark on the ancient Amber trail from Budapest across Slovakia to Krakow in Poland.

Ideal time to come to Central Europe is May to October, start planning your next  year’s vacation!

Cost of teeth whitening

When making decisions about health problems, specifically dental health, cost comes as a big factor. Cosmetic dental treatment like teeth whitening needs a lot of thought and has to be evaluated fully before deciding. The cost of teeth whitening varies widely with the methods to be used.

In-office teeth whitening is the most expensive method of treatment. It is done by a professional dentist in his clinic or office and uses the most effective method available in carefully controlled procedure. In this method the patient is assured of professional advice, care and treatment. It produces the best effect in the shortest time and the risks are more controlled. It should be noted that different dental health professionals charge different rates although they use the same method of treatment. The rate depends on the type of clinic they run, their expertise and experience and other amenities included in the treatment.

Professionally dispensed whitening kits are more expensive than the over the counter take home kits. Although both treatment procedures are done at home, professionally dispensed kits include custom-made bleaching trays that fits better than the fits all bleaching tray included in the over the counter kits. This lessens the risk of gum damage resulting from abrasion when using the ill-fitting bleaching trays. . It is dispensed with a lower concentration of bleaching agent than those used in in-office whitening treatments. It also comes with more professionally explained instructions for use, and the assurance of immediate professional help in case something goes wrong.  Professionally dispensed teeth whitening kits produces excellent results but takes longer time to produce results.

Over the counter teeth whitening kits are the least expensive method of treatment. The kit comes with a lower concentration of bleaching agent than the professionally dispensed whitening kit and a one size fits all bleaching tray. More often the bleaching tray does not fit well with the patient and causes damage to the oral mucosa, more particularly the gums. Sometimes, the kit comes without the tray and uses a paint-on applicator or an adhesive strip. Results may not be as good as the first two methods and takes longer than the professionally dispensed whitening kit.

Both take home kits are messy to use and takes some getting used to. Initial attempts may produce painful side effects like gum burns and “zingers” which may cause panic to the faint-hearted ones.

Both the in-office method and the professionally dispensed method use professional advice and pre-whitening treatments which are needed to assure that the cracks and restorations on the teeth will not be adversely affected by the whitening treatment. When choosing to use the least expensive over the counter method of teeth whitening it is best to consult a dental professional first to have the teeth examined and fixed and learn the risks involved.

There are many reasons why teeth can become discolored. Sometimes this is due to poor hygiene or some of the habits that we live with each day such as the consumption of tea, coffee, tobacco, and soda. However, there are other causes of teeth discoloration that go way beyond those just mentioned. Some are within our control and some are not. We will touch on those that may be within our control.

The problem that most of us have is that by the time we begin to notice that our teeth are becoming discolored, we now may need a bit of preliminary work before cosmetic procedures can begin. Any dental disease that may have been allowed to progress between visits just might be the culprit behind your tooth discoloration. Here are a few of the patient induced problems underlying dental disease and the subsequent tooth discoloration that may result.

Drugs, More Drugs, and Drug Abuse

Certain prescription drugs such as antidepressants, antihistamines, steroids, blood pressure meds, diuretics, cancer therapy drugs, and oral contraceptives have all been demonstrated to increase our chances of developing gum disease. Abuse of both prescription drugs as well as use of illegal drugs is a different story altogether and is unfortunately part of our culture these days.

Recent studies have shown that over 12 million Americans over 12 years of age have used methamphetamine. This in itself is a staggering statistic until you realize that this number is more than 5 percent of the U.S. population. It is not only our nation’s health that is at risk but we are causing damage to our teeth that is irreversible.

Dentists that are treating the teeth of meth users for instance, are coming back with reports of teeth that are stained, black, rotting, and crumbling. Meth is highly acidic and significantly reduces the mouth’s ability to produce saliva. Meth causes users to grind their teeth and induces insatiable sugar cravings.

Does Body Piercing Lead to Teeth Discoloration?

Most folks might not realize the degree to which oral body piercing could play a part in dental disease and teeth discoloration. Risk factors from infected lesions on any part of your body is definitely not a good thing. Open sores anywhere on the body and especially the mouth make an ideal breeding ground for harmful and dangerous bacteria.

Even though there is greater risk of deadly infection at the time of the piercing, continued movement of the oral jewelery that occurs by virtue of continued movement of your mouth throughout the day carries its own risks of infection. By simply having oral jewelery rub against the inside of your mouth, you risk damaging the soft tissue surrounding your teeth. This assault may eventually result in you watching your gums recede.

The constant rubbing of a foreign object against your teeth can wear away at your natural enamel or damage any veneers that had been applied as cosmetic. And as modern dentistry is beginning to realize, any type of oral jewelery will sooner or later create an unhealthy environment for your healthy teeth.

Keeping your teeth pearly white is most often within your control. The key is to stay on top of your dental care and to schedule regular consultations with your dentist.

The methods and equipment used in laser hair removalLaser hair removal|Laser hair removal technology} has come a long way in the past few years. Before now, getting rid of hair permanently was limited to treatments offered by professional salons. These services, although costing a lot of money, provided clients with effective and the longest possible lasting results using advanced high specification equipment.

As with all technology, the price of this equipment has fallen by huge amounts over the years, meaning that the same standard treatments, which were exclusive to salon only visits, have become both accessible and affordable for home use. It is therefore now possible to get the same standard of permanent hair removal equipment for use in the privacy of home.

This reduction in price and rise in standards is fantastic in particular for those individuals who appreciate and enjoy the advantages of getting rid of hair permanently but perhaps feel self conscious about visiting salons and going through the treatment process.

The other significant advantage is that, whilst the home versions of the laser and IPL hair removal products are expensive (top end models can £300/$450) the comparative cost of multiple salon visits means that having your very own laser hair removal system or IPL system creates significant savings.

It doesn’t have to be that expensive either. Cheap laser hair removal at home can start from around £100/$150. At the top end of the range, the IPL systems (Intense Pulsed Light) offers perhaps the pinnacle of hair removal technology – even better than some salons provide!

The No No hair removal system is perhaps the newest method of getting rid of hair now on sale and is just one example of the wide range of products now available on the market.

Seek medical advice before starting any type of hair removal treatment.
